Blue Jackets Reassign Westcott To Crunch

Syracuse, NY (December 4, 2002) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned defenseman Duvie Westcott to Syracuse. The Crunch also announced today that have recalled left wing Brad Wingfield from Elmira (UHL).

Westcott, 25, played for Columbus last night against the New York Rangers after being recalled on December 3. In 17 games with Syracuse this season, Westcott recorded one goal, nine assists and 50 penalty minutes. A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Westcott was signed as a free agent by Columbus on May 7, 2001.

Wingfield, 27, appeared in 17 games with Elmira, recording 10 goals, six assists and 182 penalty minutes. Wingfield appeared in eight games with Syracuse last season, tallying one goal and 79 penalty minutes. A native of Gibsons, British Columbia, Wingfield holds the franchise record for penalty minutes in a game with 45 against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on March 17, 2001.
