Oklahoma City Blue News Release
RENO, Nev. - Seven Oklahoma City Blue players scored in double figures on Monday night, but it wasn't enough to push past the Reno Bighorns. Reno defeated Oklahoma City, 119-100, at the Reno Events Center.
Talib Zanna led the Blue with 17 points and 13 rebounds for his eighth double-double of the season and third consecutive game of 13 or more boards. Dakari Johnson tallied 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists and Dez Wells added 10 points. Dane Miller scored 14 points with six rebounds to lead the Blue reserves while Mustapha Farrakhan and Tomislav Zubcic each recorded 12 points.
The Bighorns struck early, leading 34-22 after the opening quarter. The Blue cut the deficit to seven early in the third quarter, but an 11-3 Reno run helped the home team pull away as the Bighorns led by double figures for the remainder of the night.
Oklahoma City (7-17) attempted 47 free throws on the night - the second most in the NBA D-League this season. The Blue outrebounded Reno 54-40 and pulled down 19 offensive boards.
Reno (15-9) was led by Vincent Hunter with 31 points, 11 rebounds and five assists.
After playing nine of its previous 10 games away from home, Oklahoma City closes its road stretch in Hidalgo, Texas on Wednesday against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. The Blue then returns to Oklahoma for a four-game home stand that begins on Friday against the Los Angeles D-Fenders. A full schedule can be found at OklahomaCityBlue.com.
