D-Fenders Defeat Stampede in Double Overtime

EL SEGUNDO - The D-Fenders beat the Idaho Stampede 122-118 tonight in El Segundo, CA.

Justin Harper (28 points) and Vander Blue (28 points, 6 rebounds) led the D-Fenders (12-12). Andre Ingram (22 points, 6/9 3PT) also reached the 20-point mark, while Ryan Gomes (19 points, 13 rebounds) and Josh Magette (15 points, 11 assists) also reached double-digits for Los Angeles.

Jeff Ayres (29 points, 16 rebounds) paced Idaho (9-16). Treveon Graham (24 points), Bryce Dejean-Jones), Phil Pressey (21 points) and Pierre Jackson (10 points) also scored in double-figures for the Stampede.

Idaho outscored Los Angeles 27-24 in the first quarter behind eight points from Pressey, while Harper had eight for the D-Fenders. Los Angeles held Idaho to 17 points in the second quarter, outscoring the Stampede 21-17 behind 11 points from Harper. Los Angeles took a 45-44 lead into the halftime break, Harper leading the way with 19 points.

The D-Fenders outscored the Stampede 37-31 in the third quarter, behind 10 points from Ingram and eight apiece from Gomes and Magette. Los Angeles led 82-75 after three quarters. Idaho outscored the D-Fenders 24-17 in the fourth quarter behind 10 points from Graham. Ingram forced overtime with a last-second three, tying the score at 99. The stalemate continued through the first period of overtime, both teams scoring 13 points. Los Angeles outscored Idaho 10-6 in the second overtime period behind five points from Blue, clinching a 122-118 victory.

The D-Fenders shot .387 from the field, compared to .458 for the Stampede. Los Angeles connected on 15-of-38 three point attempts, while Idaho finished at 7-of-26. .

Los Angeles heads to Austin to face the Spurs at 5:30pm PT on January 21st.
