Dickinson Wright Partners with Grand Rapids Drive for Jersey Theme Night

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH - The Grand Rapids Drive, the NBA Affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, will partner with Dickinson Wright PLLC to host a Charitable Jersey Takeover Night on Fri. Jan. 22nd as the Drive take on the Sioux Falls Skyforce at 7pm at the DeltaPlex Arena.

Players will wear customized GR Drive/Dickinson Wright jerseys to be auctioned off post-game with all proceeds benefitting Mary Free Bed Wheelchair and Adaptive Sports. Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital, the parent of Mary Free Bed Wheelchair and Adaptive Sports, exists to restore independence, hope and freedom through rehabilitation to people with disabilities.

"Dickinson Wright is honored to partner with the Grand Rapids Drive to support Mary Free Bed Wheelchair and Adaptive Sports. Through this partnership we are able to raise money and awareness for Mary Free Bed's work to restore hope and freedom to people with disabilities and their families. Like so many others, today we can say we are proud to 'choose Mary'," said Leslee Lewis, Managing Partner of Dickinson Wright's Grand Rapids office.

The post-game auction will feature red and white jerseys with the top five overall bidders getting a photo and meet-and-greet with the player post game. Those interested in purchasing a jersey can bid throughout the game with the auction concluding five minutes after the final buzzer.

On Sun. Jan. 17th the Drive hosted a private basketball clinic at the Mary Free Bed YMCA for friends and family of both Dickinson Wright and Mary Free Bed. Maria Betsa, the manager of recreational therapy and wheelchair and adaptive sports at Mary Free Bed was quoted in saying "Our Mary Free Bed Wheelchair Basketball Teams are directly impacted by the generosity of the Grand Rapids Drive. Mary Free Bed provides opportunities for people to gain their quality of life back and this is done every day through our Wheelchair and Adaptive Sports programs. The opportunities given to us by the Grand Rapids Drive will only enable our athletes to have the same sporting opportunities as their able bodied peers."
