
Blue Crabs Pick up Victory to Take Series

Southern Maryland Blue Crabs News Release
(York PA., June 18th 2015)---Southern Maryland continued their torrid pace at the plate, banging out 11 hits to lead them to the 4-1 victory over the York Revolution to win the three game series.
Southern Maryland scored two runs in the top of the second inning. Gustavo Molina and Jovan Rosa both singled, followed by a Jake Opitz single to load the bases. Jamar Walton then reached base on a fielder's choice to score Molina to make in 1-0. The next hitter Anthony Vega slashed a single to center field to score Rosa to make it 2-0.
In the top of the fourth, infielder Casey Frawley, who was just reinstated off the disabled list singled to center to score Jamar Walton to make it a 3-0 ballgame. York finally cracked the scoreboard in the bottom of the seventh Yeicok Calderon singled, and two batters later Salvador Paniagua doubled to score Calderon to make it 3-1.
In the top of the eighth, Jovan Rosa led things off with a double, followed by a Jake Opitz groundout to advance Rosa to third. The next hitter Jamar Walton drove in Rosa with a sacrifice fly to make it 4-1. After the completion of the top of the eighth, the skies opened and the rain began to fall causing an hour and two minute rain delay.
Once the delay was completed, the combination of Berg, and Hamren finished things off in the eighth and ninth out of the bullpen to put a stamp on the Blue Crabs victory.
RHP Jon Leicester picked up the victory, going 6.2 innings, allowing a run on five hits, while striking out eight. Offensively for Southern Maryland, the combination of Gustavo Molina, and Jovan Rosa went 4-8, while Jamar Walton drove in two runs, and Anthony Vega, and Casey Frawley contributing with a RBI apiece.
Southern Maryland continues with their seven game road trip tomorrow, as they take on the Camden Riversharks in game one of a four game set. The first pitch is set for 7:05 P.M. LHP Brian Burres (2-3, 3.86) will throw for Southern Maryland, while RHP Sean Gleason (3-4, 4.01) will toss for Camden.
