WALDORF, MD - The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs have partnered with the Arc of Southern Maryland for the first of a series of games that are dedicated to raising funds for nonprofits and community-centric organizations within the Southern Maryland area. For the entire game on Thursday, April 30, the Blue Crabs will offer various avenues for raising funds for the organization.

Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets to the April 30 game by visiting www.somdbluecrabs.com and entering promotional code "ARC2015" during the checkout process. Partial proceeds from every ticket purchased using the promotional code will directly benefit the Arc of Southern Maryland.

Members from the Arc of Southern Maryland will be present at the game with tabling that will be located on the concourse. Additionally, representatives from the organization will take part in the ceremonial first pitch before the game.

Tasked with providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Southern Maryland area, the Arc of Southern Maryland will be the only nonprofit featured on the night as a way to create awareness for their fundraising efforts. Since 1975, the organization's mission is to provide recreational, employment, educational and social opportunities for developmentally disabled individuals.

"Being able to partner with a nonprofit like the Arc of Southern Maryland is always a fulfilling experience," said Blue Crabs Assistant General Manager Courtney Knichel. "With the entire night focused on the efforts of their organization, this will be a great opportunity for people to learn about the great work that they do for so many people in Southern Maryland."
