Oklahoma City Blue News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma City Thunder forward Mitch McGary scored 22 points with seven rebounds and a pair of steals, but the Oklahoma City Blue fell to the Idaho Stampede, 93-84, on Tuesday at the Cox Convention Center. McGary shot 10-of-17 from the field in his 29 minutes of action.
Fellow Thunder forward Josh Huestis tallied 15 points and five boards while Marquis Teague dished out a season-high 11 assists while scoring a dozen points. Talib Zanna posted 11 points and seven rebounds off the bench and Dakari Johnson added seven points with 12 rebounds.
After being outscored 55-41 in the opening half, the Blue came out of the break holding the Stampede to 13 points on 6-of-21 shooting in the third to enter the final frame down by nine. Huestis scored eight points in the fourth but the Blue could never cut the Stampede lead to under seven.
"One thing that has been pretty constant is that we've been able to generate some pretty good shots and I thought tonight was no different," said Blue Head Coach Mark Daigneault. "We didn't get to the line tonight as much as we have and we obviously didn't make enough shots, didn't get enough stops."
The Blue (0-7) recorded 21 assists on 33 made buckets while pulling down 45 rebounds.
Idaho (2-7) was led by Brandon Fields with 19 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds.
Oklahoma City and Idaho square off a second time this week on Thursday night at the Cox Convention Center. For ticket information, visit OklahomaCityBlue.com.
