Green Bay Blizzard News Release

The Green Bay Blizzard are proud to announce that the af2 league office has assigned them four more players that will help take the Blizzard organization to the next level: QB Johnny Turman, OL/DL Joe Peters, WR/DB DaQuan Davis and FB/LB Dennis Dottin-Carter.

QB Johnny Turman (6-5, 210 Pittsburgh) brings both talent and experience to the Blizzard. Already accomplished in Arena Football, Turman was named the 2003 af2 Rookie of the Year after his record-setting season with the Charleston Swamp Foxes. Turman already has ties to the Blizzard, as he spent the 2004 season with the AFL's Indiana Firebirds, the very team that new Blizzard Head Coach Bob Landsee served as Line Coach. In addition to his professional career, Turman is also a QB coach at a college in his home state of California.

OL/DL Joe Peters (6-4, 275 Concordia/St. Paul) is also very familiar to the Blizzard, having played against them twice in 2004 as a member of the Peoria Pirates. Offensive Coordinator Rod Miller was excited about Peters joining the fold. "We played against him last year, and after seeing him in action [former Head Coach Brian Noble] and I were really interested in getting him up to Green Bay," said Miller. "He played in the af2 Championship game last year, and in terms of experience that's something you can't replace. The Championship is a goal of ours this year, and [Peters] can help us get there."

WR/DB DaQuan Davis (6-0, 192 Abilene Christian) also brings valuable experience to the Blizzard. A very fast and physical player that can play with both muscle and finesse, Davis was a member of the 2004 Midwest Division Champion Tulsa Talons.

FB/LB Dennis Dottin-Carter (6-1, 245 Maine) spent this past training camp with the AFL's Colorado Crush, making it as far as their final roster cut-down. While there, he made quite an impression on Coach Miller. "I saw him at the Las Vegas Gladiators/Colorado Crush pre-season scrimmage, and I was very impressed by what I saw," said Miller, who was a bit surprised that Dottin-Carter was even available. "I actually checked him off my list, because I was sure he would make their roster. When I saw he was available, Coach Landsee and I went after him immediately."
