Blazers Win 3-1 Over Rockets

Luke Harrison scored with 1:41 to go in the game and Jake Kryski added an empty net goal to lift the Kamloops Blazers to a 3-1 win over the Kelowna Rockets.

Nick Chyzowski opened the scoring 5:31 into the first period. He scored on a rebound for his first of the WHL preseason.

The Rockets had their chance to get one back, but Dylan Ferguson stopped Kole Lind on a penalty shot.

The Blazers were off to the better start and had a strong first period as they outshot the Rockets 13-8.

The second period was full of penalties as the two teams combined for nine minor penalties.

The Rockets tied the game up 5:43 into the second period on a power play. Dillon Dube took a quick shot that snuck under the glove of Ferguson.

Despite the parade of penalties, the game remained tied through two periods.

The Rockets had the pressure on at times in the third period, but Dylan Ferguson was solid in goal for the Blazers.

Luke Harrison came off the bench and scored on a quick shot with 1:41 to go to give the Blazers a 2-1 lead.

Jake Kryski iced it as the Blazers went on to a 3-1 win over the Rockets.

Dylan Ferguson earned the win with 31 saves. Jake Morrissey stopped 27 shots for the Rockets.

The Rockets were 1-for-8 on the power play, while the Blazers finished 1-for-6.

With the win, the Blazers improve their WHL preseason record to 2-1-0-0.

These two teams will meet Saturday night in Kelowna.
