Friday, September 10th, 2010 vs. Kelowna Rockets

Colin Smith scored with 19 seconds left in the third period to lift the Blazers to a 3-2 win over the Rockets on Friday night. Jordan DePape had a strong game for the home side recording a goal and 2 assists. 16 year old defenseman Brady Gaudet scored his first goal of the preseason on the powerplay. Jon Groenheyde played all 60 minutes in goal and stopped 20 of 22 shots that he faced.

Saturday, September 11th, 2010 at Kelowna Rockets

In Kelowna, the Rockets scored three third period goals en route to doubling the Blazers 4-2 Saturday night. The Blazers held first and second period leads of 2-1 after Bronson Maschmeyer and Dalibor Bortnak scored first period goals. Max Adolph scored twice in the third period, including an empty net goal, to help lift the Rockets to victory. Adam Brown stopped 22 of 24 shots he faced for the Rockets and Jon Groenheyde stopped 23 of 26 shots in the loss.

Season Ticket Pick Up - September 19th

Kamloops Blazers' season ticket holders can come and meet the players and coaches on Sunday. The annual season ticket pick up day is on Sunday, September 19th from 3-5pm at the Parkside Lounge located in the Interior Savings Centre.

Six Players in NHL Camps

The Kamloops Blazers have six players that are currently in NHL rookie camps. 19 year old defenseman Josh Caron and 18 year old forward JT Barnett are both at the Minnesota Wild training camp and are playing in the Traverse City tournament for the Wild. Austin Madaisky, drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 5th round in 2010, is also competing in the rookie tournament. Chase Schaber, a 19 year old center, is with the Edmonton Oilers rookie team in Penticton, BC competing in a tournament hosted by the Vancouver Canucks. Corey Fienhage, a 20 year old 3rd round pick to Buffalo, is skating in the Sabres rookie camp. Finally, 18 year old left winger Brendan Ranford, who was drafted by Philadelphia, is in the Flyers rookie camp.

Season Opener

The Kamloops Blazers regular season is starting next weekend as the Prince George Cougars will visit on September 24th at 7pm; make sure to get your tickets early!
