Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers have traded 17-year-old forward Riley Ginnell to the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for a sixth round pick in the 2021 WHL Bantam Draft.

Ginnell suited up for six WHL preseason games and had a goal and three assists. He was originally selected by the Blazers in the 7th round of the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.

"With the amount of forwards that we have on our roster, we wanted to allow Riley the opportunity to play in the WHL this year," said General Manager, Matt Bardsley. "This move allows Riley the opportunity to do so. We wish Riley all the best going forward," said Bardsley.

The Blazers roster is now at 25 players including 15 forwards, eight defenseman and two goaltenders. The roster includes 18-year-old defenseman Quinn Schmiemann who remains at the Tampa Bay Lightning training camp.
