Calgary, AB - Luc Smith and Quinn Benjafield scored 1:45 apart late in the second period to push the Kamloops Blazers past the Calgary Hitmen 2-1 Friday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

The Blazers withstood a third period surge by Calgary which saw the home side fire 20 shots on net. Vladislav Yeryomenko authored the lone Hitmen marker to extend Calgary's power play goal-scoring streak to 11 games.

Blazers goaltender Dylan Ferguson was named the first star for making 32 saves while Hitmen goalie Nick Schneider was the second star after a 34 save performance.

Calgary wraps up their three-game home stand on Sunday, Jan. 21, against the Prince Albert Raiders. The 4:00 p.m. start at the 'Dome is presented by Edward Jones. It's also another Sunday Funday with face painters, concourse activities, lots of giveaways and a post-game family skate that is FREE with a game ticket. Sunday Funday contests also feature a specially priced $8.99 ticket (plus applicable fees) for kids 12 and under.

The Hitmen will then begin a season-high seven-game road trip starting Saturday, Jan. 27 in Victoria for the first of two straight against the Royals.
