The Kelowna Rockets fell 7-2 to the Seattle Thunderbirds on Friday night at the ShoWare Center in Kent, WA.

Seattle's Zack Andrusiak(20) opened the scoring 59 seconds into the opening frame. Nolan Volcan(21) gave the T-Birds a 2-0 lead at 8:01 that they took into the second period.

Noah Philp(9) extended Seattle's lead to three at 6:07 of the middle stanza. Dillon Dube(20) cut into the Thunderbirds lead at 10:20 on a Rockets power play. Volcan(22) replied with a power play goal of his own for Seattle before Turner Ottenbreit(6) made it 5-1 T-Birds heading into the third.

Blake Bargar(9) made it 6-1 Seattle at 6:43 of the third. Conner Bruggen-Cate(13) replied for Kelowna at 10:34 but Volcan(23) completed the hat-trick on another T-Birds power play at 17:33 to seal it for Seattle. 7-2 Thunderbirds final.

Brodan Salmond's record falls to 4-5-0-1 after stopping 11/16 shots he faced before 15-year-old goaltender Cole Tisdale came into the game in Salmond's relief and stopped 15/17 shots he faced. Seattle outshot Kelowna 33-29.

The Rockets record falls to 28-14-2-1.

Kelowna will be back on home ice tomorrow night to take on one of their biggest rivals, the Victoria Royals. Puck drop on Saturday night at Prospera Place is 7:05pm.
