Blades Take Slice out of Broncos for 33rd Win

MINTS CALLS GAME:Saskatoon Blades' forward Fraser Minten brought all eyes on him with an unbelievable 3-2 overtime winner Sunday at SaskTel Centre against the Swift Current Broncos.

The Toronto Maple Leafs' prospect went coast-to-coast and danced around several Broncos' defenders for his second goal of the night. Minten's two-goal performance gives him 28 points (11G, 17A) in 22 games this season.

Sophomore Austin Elliott pieced together a 20-save performance in the win. The Strathmore, AB product's record improved to 21-4-2-1 and is now four wins shy of 50 in his WHL career.

Wearing pizza themed jerseys for Real Canadian Superstore's Your Team, Your Jersey night, 20-year-old forward Easton Armstrong had the most pieces offensively with a two-point performance (1G, 1A). The Los Angeles, CA product has 42 points (25G, 17A) in 43 games this season. Armstrong has goals in three consecutive games.

The Blades continued their dominance at home putting themselves 18-1-1-0 on home ice. Saskatoon remains first in the WHL with a 33-9-2-3 record.

NEXT GAME: The Blades resume their season-long, seven-game home-stand on Wednesday when they welcome the Regina Pats.

The season-series finale between the inter-provincial rivals starts at 7:00pm.
