
Blades Swap Players in Albany

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced today that forward Colin Nicholson has been recalled to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League and that forward Danick Bouchard has been re-assigned to the team from Albany.
The call-up for Nicholson is the first in his three-year pro career. Nicholson, who turned 26 on January 7, makes the trip to Albany having scored 13 points (6g, 7a) in 33 games with the Everblades this season. The Dartmouth, Nova Scotia native is currently tied for the team lead in plus/minus with a plus-10 ranking.
During his previous two pro seasons Nicholson notched 35 points (14g, 21a) in 90 games with the Texas Wildcatters. Prior to jumping to the pro ranks he spent four year playing collegiate hockey at Lake Superior State University from 2002-2006.
Bouchard returns to the Everblades after skating in two games with the River Rats. The 22-year-old rookie had no points in what was his second AHL call-up of his two-year pro career. Bouchard re-joins the Everblades lineup where he has scored 22 points (13g, 9a) in 31 games. The Quebec City native currently leads the team in game-winning goals with five and leads all rookies in that category. .
After missing most of last season due to injury, Bouchard is in his first full professional season after wrapping up a five-year junior career with the Shawinigan Cataractes of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Bouchard finished his junior career with 197 points in 292 games from 2002-2007.

The Everblades return to action tonight when they take on the Charlotte Checkers at 7:00 p.m. from Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, NC. The Everblades' next home game is on Friday, January 23 when they host the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:30 p.m. from Germain Arena.
