Bombers Take First Of Two At Elmira 6-3

ELMIRA, NY -- The Dayton Bombers took the lead early in the first period and never surrendered it, downing the Jackals in Elmira, 6-3, in the first of six straight away from the Nutter Center.

The scoring started at 3:28 of the first when Brock Wilson netted a shot with assists to Christian Guadet and Danny Lapointe. It was 2-0 after Lapointe scored at the 6:08 mark aided by Guadet. Elmira would closeout the first period scoring at 13:08 when Chris Korchinski made it 2-1.

After a scoreless second, Nino Musitelli found the net at 5:50 of the third (assists to Mike McLean and Tomas Zaborsky) to make it 3-1. After the Jackals' Derek Couture made it 3-2 at 8:40, Les Reany scored the first of two Bombers goals within 29 seconds at the 11 minute mark with Wilson assisting. Lapointe got his second goal and third point of the night at 11:29 of the period with Guadet getting his third assist to make it 5-2. After Korchinski's second goal of the night, the Bombers closed the scoring with Dan Riedel's empy-netter (assist to Reany) at 19:14 for the 6-3 final.

The Bombers and Jackals faceoff again Wednesday night at 7:05 at the First Arena with the game carried on the B2 Networks.
