February 24, 2010 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release

The Saskatoon Blades dropped down one spot to 5th in the Week 23 BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings that came out on Wednesday afternoon.

The Blades had four games in the last period of the rankings, all at home. Last Wednesday, the Blades kicked off the week with a convincing 8-1 win over the Red Deer Rebels. The week continued on Friday with a 5-2 loss to the Vancouver Giants. On Saturday, the Brandon Wheat Kings came to town and the Blades beat the now-7th ranked team 6-4. The week wrapped last night as the Bridge City Bunch fell 5-4 to the Chilliwack Bruins in a shootout.

The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League's Top 10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts. This is the 19th time the team has appeared in the rankings.

The Blades are back in action tonight with a visit to Moose Jaw to play the Warriors. The game can be heard live with Les Lazaruk on 92.9 The Bull.

The next Blades home game is Friday night and the annual "Faith Night" as the team takes on the Prince Albert Raiders. Two-time Grammy nominee "G.R.I.T.S." will perform both pre-game and post-game concerts during the night. Fans will also have the chance to take part in a free skate during the post-game concert. The pre-game festivities begin at 6:00 pm with puck drop at 7:05 pm. For more information on "Faith Night" visit www.bladesfaithnight.com.
