
Blades Roll Over Raiders

Propelled by 2 goal performances from Ondrej Fiala and Travis Toomey, the Blades sent the Prince Albert Raiders home with a 7-2 loss on Wednesday night.
The Raiders opened up the scoring before the Blades responded with 4 unanswered goals to put the game out of reach. The club then added 3 additional goals in the third period to make the final 7-2.
Mike Reich, Ondrej Fiala (2 - ES, PP), Curtis Hamilton (SH), Colton Gillies (PP), and Travis Toomey (2) all scored for the Blades while Brandon Herrod and Ashton Hewson scored for the Raiders.
The Blades were 2 for 5 on the power play while their penalty kill was a perfect 7 for 7. Braden Holtby made 29 saves on 31 Prince Albert shots, picking up his 19th victory of the season. Dustin Butler and Steven Stanford split the duties in goal. Butler allowed 4 goals on 23 shots while Stanford turned aside 8 of 11 shots that he faced.
The Saskatoon Blades will now play back to back home games this weekend as they host the Chilliwack Bruins on Friday night and the Regina Pats on Saturday night.
