ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades (19-7-2) picked up a tie in the standings after falling 5-4 in overtime to the Gwinnett Gladiators (17-6-4) on Friday night at Germain Arena. Gwinnett used four power play goals to help earn their fourth straight win, and snap Florida's 12 game home-winning streak.

The game started strong for the Everblades scoring twice in the first two minutes of the game. Dan Sisca extended his point scoring streak to 11 tapping in a pass by Kevin Bergin at the one minute mark. Exactly one minute later Bogdan Rudenko wristed a shot past Gwinnett goaltender Sean Fields to give the Everblades a quick two-goal lead.

The Gladiators responded however by scoring the next three goals. Danny Eberly notched Gwinnett's first power play goal of the night slipping a shot past Everblades goaltender Phil Osaer at 6:46 of the first period to cut the lead in half and Scott Kelman converted a man-advantage tally with 1:43 remaining in the opening period to send the teams to the locker rooms tied at two.

In the second period Gwinnett grabbed their first lead of the night on Kelman's second power play goal at 2:26, but Florida this time responded quickly when Jon Lehun notched his ninth goal of the season at 3:15 of the period to re-tie the game. The Everblades regained the lead late in the second period when Phil Aucoin one-timed a pass from Sean Stefanski into the net at 16:13 giving the Everblades a 4-3 lead after two periods.

In the final period, Gwinnett took advantage of a late power play opportunity to tie the game at four. Troy Milam's shot from the blue line with the Fields pulled for the extra attacker found it's way past Osaer with 48 seconds remaining in regulation.

Gwinnett began the overtime period with a power play and saw Jim Sharrow score from the right circle 1:13 into the period, one second after the penalty ended, to give the Gladiators the victory.

Osaer picked up a tie in the standings after allowing five goals on 36 Gwinnett shots, to bring his record to 7-2-2. Fields picked up the win in goal after stopping 35 of 39 Florida shots, which increased his record to 13-4-3.
