STREAK LIVES ON: Saskatoon Blades' forward Alexander Suzdalev notched an assist in his season debut as the club fell 2-1 in the shootout Saturday at the Art Hauser Centre against the Prince Albert Raiders.

The Washington Capitals prospect played his first game as a Blade since being acquired by the club on Dec. 31st. Suzdalev was overseas playing for Mora IK in Sweden prior to the deal, scoring one goal and two assists in 13 games. Suzdalev was one of the top scorers in the WHL last season with 86 points (38G, 48A) in 66 games.

Forward Tyler Parr scored the Blades lone goal to give him nine points (5G, 4A) in his last six games. The La Salle, MB product has 19 points (7G, 12A) in 37 games this season.

Rookie netminder Evan Gardner was outstanding in the crease with 27 saves. The 6-foot-2 goalie stopped six-of-seven Prince Albert shootout attempts with his record dropping to 9-4-0-1.

The Blades extended their point streak to 15 games with a 11-0-2-2 record during that stretch. Saskatoon remains atop the Eastern Conference boasting a 26-8-2-2.

NEXT GAME: The Blades begin a three-game home-stand Wednesday when they welcome the Vancouver Giants to SaskTel Centre for Country Night. It's the first time the Giants visit Saskatoon since Oct. 9th, 2019.
