FLORENCE, SC – The Pee Dee Pride announced at a press conference this morning the introduction of a new community initiative for the 2002-2003 season. The "Blades and Grades" Program will recognize students who make the A-B Honor Roll in each of the first two quarters of the school year.

Every student in the Pee Dee region who attains the A-B Honor Roll in the first two quarters will receive a voucher for a free 400-level ticket to a Pride home game.

"This program has been a total team effort from our entire staff, who has worked hard to make sure that this program will be a success," Pride Senior Vice President Jack Capuano said. "The Pride organization has always strived to be a big asset to the Pee Dee community, and this program is just another example of that commitment. We are very excited about the ‘Blades and Grades' Program, and look forward to recognizing the outstanding students in our area."

Any schools that are interested in participating in the program, and that have not already submitted their entry form, can contact Katie Huemmer, the Pride's Director of Promotions and Community Relations, at (843) 669-7825. The deadline for schools to enroll in the program is Monday, October 7.
