Blackhawks Call Up Yakubov

Blackhawk General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that Forward Mikhail Yakubov has been recalled from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League. Forward Pavel Vorobiev has been assigned to Norfolk.

Yakubov began the season playing for Spartak in the Russian League where he appeared in 29 games scoring 5 goals and adding 7 assists for 12 points. He re-signed with the Blackhawks on November 30th and was assigned to Norfolk. He has played in 8 games for the Admirals scoring 1 goal and adding 3 assists for 4 points with 8 penalty minutes.

Yakubov was the Blackhawks' 1st round pick (10th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

Vorobiev has been with the Blackhawks all season appearing in 30 games and scoring 9 goals, 2 on the power play, while adding 11 assists for 20 points. He also scored 2 shootout goals in 2 shootout opportunities. He had missed 7 games earlier this season with an ankle injury.
