
Black Bears Fall 7-3 to Tri-City ValleyCats

West Virginia Black Bears News Release
The ValleyCats took the lead in the top of the fourth with a pair of two-run homers that put them on top, 4-0. In the bottom of the fifth, SS Stephan Alemais had a line drive single that brought in a run to make the score 4-1. The Black Bears gave up three runs extending the score 7-1. 1B Albert Baur and RF Hunter Owen rallied back in the bottom of the eighth with two RBI's making the score 7-3. Each team held the opposing to end the game with a final of 7-3.
SS Stephan Alemais made his first appearance back at home after coming off of a wrist injury. Alemais went 2-4 with an RBI.
The Black Bears will be back in action tomorrow, July 9 at 7:05pm for game two versus the Tri-City ValleyCats. Saturday will be Coal Miner Appreciation Night at the ballpark. The Black Bears will be wearing Coal Miner Appreciation jerseys that will be auctioned off at the end of the game.
