The Ottawa Lynx return home tomorrow, Friday, June 30th for a quick two-game series against the Syracuse SkyChiefs (Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays). The Lynx and SkyChiefs meet tomorrow night at 7:05 pm before a special 1:05 pm Canada Day matchup.
The Lynx will have some special guests on hand for the weekend, as BJ and Tyler, winners of CBS's reality television show the Amazing Race 9 will be at Lynx Stadium for both games. On Friday, the pair will be on hand for an autograph session starting at 6:00 pm, and then post game they will be in the Upper Deck Restaurant for a meet and greet with fans. All those persons in attendance for Friday night's game will have the chance to win the opportunity to spend Canada Day in a luxury suite with BJ and Tyler during the Lynx 1:05 pm game!

BREAKING EVEN: With last night's loss, the Lynx are now at .500 with a 40-40 record. It's the first time the Lynx are at .500 since June 27th when the team was 39-39. Of the 83 days in the season thus far, the Lynx have been at .500 or better for 24 of those days, being top of the .500 mark for 13 days. The Lynx best record above .500 this season was at three games over with 3-0 and 5-2 records. The Lynx worst record this season was at 20-26 on May 23rd. With a Lynx win tonight, Ottawa will be over .500 for the first time since June 28th when they were 40-39. Ottawa is .500 pretty much everywhere ... The Lynx are 16-16 vs. the North, 16-16 vs. the West and 8-8 vs. South Division opponents. Ottawa is also 20-20 in home games and 20-20 on the road. To complete the .500 circle, Ottawa is 10-10 in day games and 30-30 at night.
EVE OF ADAM: LHP Adam Loewen will be making his Triple-A debut tonight with the Lynx as he takes the mound in Pawtucket. Loewen is the 12th Canadian to suit up for the Lynx in franchise history and second this season. OF Josh McCurdy was on the roster earlier this season and played in 20 games this season with Ottawa. The last time at least two Canadians were on the roster in the same season is when Jeremy Ware and Mike Johnson were with the Lynx in 2001. The most Canadians to be on the Lynx roster in a season is four when Denis Boucher, Mike Gardiner, Joe Siddall and Matt Stairs were in Ottawa for the inaugural season in 1993.
THIS AND THAT: The Lynx are currently 4th in the IL in batting (.259) and 8th in ERA (3.62) ... After going 10-12 in April and 15-16 in May, the Lynx are 15-12 in June ... The month of June has been kind to some Lynx players ... Eddy Garabito (.313), Keith Reed (.313) and Luis Terrero (.309) are hitting over .300 for the month ... RHP Brian Bowles and LHP Brian Burres are a combined 8-1 with a 2.69 ERA in June ... Andy Tracy is in the top five in the IL in both home runs and RBI ... Tracy is currently tied for third in homers with 15 and tied for fourth in RBI with 48 ... Tracy is also doing it with the glove ... The Lynx slugger is leading the IL in fielding percentage amongst first baseman at .996 (2 errors in 56 games) ... LHP Scott Rice hates flying ... Rice has a 5.50 ground ball to fly ball ratio, leading the Lynx and is 2nd in the IL to Syracuse's Brandon League with a 5.73 ratio ... The Lynx second best ratio belongs to RHP Andy Mitchell with a 2.42 ratio ... The Lynx have struck out 484 times, second fewest in the IL ... Speed kills and the Lynx are living proof ... Ottawa is third in the league with 82 stolen bases, behind second place Durham with 90 and first place Charlotte with 94 ... Ottawa is 30-22 vs. RH starters and 10-18 this season when a LHP starts for the opposition.
MANON AN ALL-STAR: Lynx closer RHP Julio Manon was named to the IL All-Star team and will be at the Triple-A All-Star Game in Toledo on July 12th ... Manon leads the IL in saves 16 (in 18 opportunities) and has an 0-1 record with a 2.86 ERA in 27 games.
OF NOTE ON THE SYRACUSE ROSTER: The SkyChiefs come to Ottawa with two former Lynx players on their Roster. OF Chad Mottola played for the Lynx in 2004, while INF Luis Figueroa was in Ottawa during the 2002 season. The SkyChiefs roster also features three of Toronto's top prospects, including RHP Dustin McGowan (who will start for Syracuse on Saturday). McGowan, 24, was rated Toronto's top prospect by Baseball America prior to the 2006 season. Other top prospects include Baseball America's #5 RHP Josh Banks and #7 Brandon League.
