TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Louisville Bats in the first game of a four-game series from Louisville Slugger Field (7:15 p.m.). The Herd will be looking to rebound from losing three of four to the Indianapolis Indians in their first series after the All-Star Break. In their first meeting of the season against the Bats, the Bisons will turn to RHP Jake Dittler. Dittler threw six shutout innings in a victory over Pawtucket on July 6. Louisville will counter with LHP Phil Dumatrait, who also hasn't thrown since July 6. He allowed three runs in seven innings of a no-decision against Toledo.

VS. THE BATS: Louisville is the final team the Bisons have yet to face so far this season. Last year, the Herd won seven of eight from the Bats, including a four-game sweep at Dunn Tire Park, May 17-20. Dating back to the 2004 season, Buffalo has won 10 of their last 11 games against Louisville.

SIX STRONG: Jake Dittler has worked at least six innings in each of his last six starts. During the stretch, he is 3-1 with a 3.62ERA with 15 strikeouts and nine strikeouts (37.1IP). The stretch has turned Dittler's season around as he was 1-8 with a 5.18ERA with 21 walks and 18 strikeouts in his first 10 games of the season (50.1IP).

IN A PINCH: Outfielder Jason Cooper launched a pinch-hit home run in the eighth inning last night. The blast was his seventh on the year and gave him 41RBI (4th on the Bisons). The last Herd batter to hit a pinch-hit homer will be in the opposing dugout tonight. Andy Abad hit a walk-off, pinch-hit three-run home run in the 11th inning on May 23, 2005 against Charlotte.

ROAD HITTER: Andy Marte collected a hit in each game of the Bisons four-game series in Indianapolis, averaging .429 (6-14) with three RBI. For the season, Marte leads the Herd with a .303 (50-165) batting average on the road (minimum 40 road at-bats). He also has 11 doubles, seven home runs and 25RBI in his 46 games away from Dunn Tire Park.

CATCHING UP: Ryan Garko got behind the plate for the first time this season when he took over for Tim Laker in the seventh inning last night. Garko started 55 games at catcher last season and was the International League mid-season All-Star at the position. Garko has made 73 starts this season at first base and 11 at designated hitter.
