Buffalo Bisons News Release

TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons host the Toledo Mud Hens for the third game of their four-game set from Dunn Tire Park (7:05 p.m.). The series is tied at a game apiece thanks to Kelly Shoppach's walk-off home run in the 10th inning last night. Looking to build off the momentum of that 5-4 victory, the Herd will turn to RHP Jake Dittler tonight. Dittler worked six innings of two-run ball in a no-decision against Durham on Friday. Toledo will counter with RHP Mark Woodyard, who is making his first start of the season after 18 appearances out of the bullpen.

He has also had a good sinker working, with 25 of his 40 outs in those games coming via the groundball.

WALK-OFF WINNERS: Last night, Kelly Shoppach became the third Bison to hit a walk-off home run this year. Ben Francisco won an April 15 game against Columbus with a solo homer in the 11th inning. Five days ago, Jason Cooper hit a two-run home run in the 12th inning to help the Bisons defeat Durham, 4-2.

HIT STREAK: Kelly Shoppach has hit in eight straight games, averaging .333 (12-36) over the stretch. The streak has been a powerful one with eight of the 12 hits going for extra-bases (five doubles and three home runs). Through his first nine games as a Bison, Shoppach has posted a .667 slugging percentage and a 1.024 ops.

HOMER LEAD: Jason Dubois' home run yesterday was his team-leading eighth on the season. It also gave him 38RBI, one more than teammate Ryan Garko and good for a tie of 4th on the International League charts.

GETTING HOT: Andy Marte has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games. The third baseman had two hits last night and is hitting .356 (16-45) since the second game of a doubleheader on May 26. The stretch, which includes three doubles, a home run, five RBI and five runs scored, has raised his season average form .232 to .258.
