Buffalo Bisons News Release
ROSTER MOVE: Brian Slocum was activated off the disabled list today to make the start tonight. Slocum was DL'd on May 15 after going 0-0 with a 1.76ERA in nine games with the Herd. Pitcher Jason Stanford was placed on the disabled list today. Stanny was 2-5 with a 5.10ERA in 10 starts this year with Buffalo.
TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons open up an eight-game homestand with the first game of a four-game series with the Durham Bulls from Dunn Tire Park (7:05 p.m.). The Herd had an off day yesterday to return from a 3-5 roadtrip in Toledo and Columbus. RHP Brian Slocum will start for Buffalo tonight. With eight of his nine appearances this year out of the bullpen, Slocum will be on a strict pitch count and will be piggy-backed by RHP Rob Bell. Durham will go with RHP Edwin Jackson, who has nine starts this year but made a relief appearance on May 28 against Ottawa (1.0IP, 1K).

VS. BULLS: Tonight's game is the Bisons first against the Durham Bulls this season. Buffalo has not lost a regular-season series to the Bulls since 1999 with four wins and two splits in the last six years. Last year, Buffalo scored 7.0 runs a game in posting a 5-3 record against Durham.
BUDDING STREAKS: There are no long hit streaks entering tonight's game but several Bison batters may be on the verge of solid stretches. Jason Cooper, Jose Flores, Ryan Garko and Kelly Shoppach all have four-game hit streaks with Shoppach's being the most impressive (.533, 8-15). Andy Marte enters play tonight on a five-game hit streak (.421, 8-19).
HOME SWEET HOME: With a 16-10 record and a .615 winning percentage, the Bisons currently have the best home record in the International League. Buffalo is hitting .285 in Dunn Tire Park, with 25 of their 40 home runs on the season.
DON'T COUNT THEM OUT: Buffalo has won two of the last three because of their work late in games. In those three contests, 19 of Buffalo's 23 runs scored have come from the 8th inning on (83%). For the year, the Bisons have scored 62 total runs in the 8th, 9th and extra-innings. That accounts for 27% of the team's total of 229 runs.
