TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons face the Durham Bulls in the first of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). The Herd won last night against Louisville by a score of 8-0 for their third straight and a series win. Buffalo will go on a five-game road trip before the All-Star break against Syracuse and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Bisons are 22-18 at home this year.
vs. BULLS: The Bisons are 0-4 against Durham this season as the Bulls swept a four-game set, June 22-25. In 2011, the Herd went 3-5 against the Bulls. Since their return to the International League in 1998, the Bisons are 58-58 (.500) overall against Durham and are 32-24 (.571) at Coca-Cola Field.
COHOON: LHP MARK COHOON will make his second start tonight for the Bisons since being called up June 24. Cohoon went 3-7 in 12 starts with Binghamton (AA) with a 4.11ERA before being called up. The southpaw had 18 starts last season for the Herd in which he went 4-11 with a 6.11ERA.
J-ROD: INF JOSH RODRIGUEZ went 4-5 yesterday and fell a triple short of the cycle. He now has four multi-hit games for Buffalo and at least one hit in six of his first seven games with the Herd. Rodriguez is hitting a combined .303 with eight home runs and 34RBI in 64 games between Double-A Binghamton and Buffalo this season.
LONGBALL: OF MATT DEN DEKKER, INF OSWALDO NAVARRO and INF JOSH RODRIGUEZ all had solo-shots for the Herd last night. Rodriguez now has three home runs in seven games since being called up on June 21. Navarro hit his first home run as a Bison and his first since April 15 with Binghamton (AA) earlier this season.
BISON BITS: RHP MATT HARVEY got his team-leading seventh win last night retiring the first 14 batters he faced and striking out nine. he now leads the IL with 96 strikeouts on the year...INF BRAD EMAUS went 3-4 with a double and 3RBI last night. He is six for his last 18 at the plate (.333) with four RBI..RHP ELVIN RAMIREZ pitched a scoreless eighth inning last night to drop his ERA back down to 0.98.
