Hens Allow Two Hits in Big Win over Columbus

The Hens had a big day offensively to support stellar pitching as they beat the Clippers 8-1 in Columbus on Saturday night.

The offense combined for eight runs on eleven hits, including a big five-run eighth inning led by John Lindsey. Lindsey went 2-for-4 with four RBI after a second inning solo homer and a three-run double in the eighth.

Behind starter Casey Crosby, the Hens combined to throw nine innings of two-hit shutout ball. Crosby took a no-hitter into the sixth before Matt Pagnozzi led off the inning with a single. Jose Ortega pitched two innings in relief of Crosby and allowed one run on one hit.

Ben Guez also had a big day offensively going 3-for-5 with a two-run single in the ninth.

The Hens will look for the two-game sweep tomorrow in Columbus. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.

Game Notes

Justin Henry extended his hit streak to ten games with an RBI single.

Casey Crosby had four walks and four strikeouts over seven innings to raise his record to 5-2.

John Lindsey's homer was his first since joining the Hens this month.
