Today's Game
This afternoon, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Syracuse Chiefs in the final game of a three-game series at NBT Bank Stadium (7:05 p.m.). The Herd is going for the sweep after wins of 8-6 and 5-3 over the Chiefs. Buffalo is off tomorrow before opening a three-game series against the IronPigs at Coca-Cola Field starting Tuesday.

The Bisons are 2-0 against the Chiefs this year. With a win today, the Herd can pick up their first sweep in Syracuse since April 15-18, 2013, a set punctuated with their record-breaking 27-9 victory on April 18. These teams will meet again July 2-3 in Buffalo.
Jeff Francis
LHP JEFF FRANCIS is coming off his second victory as a Bisons last Tuesday in Lehigh Valley. The veteran allowed just one run on three hits over six innings of a 3-1 Herd win. Francis struck out five and walked none, extending his streak without issuing a free pass to 16.1 innings. Francis is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA in his four starts this year.

INF MATT HAGUE'S league-best .355 batting average is 19 points better than any other hitter in the IL. He continues to pace the circuit in hits (91), total bases (124), RBI (43), on-base pct. (.435) and slugging pct. (.484) and is tied for 1st in runs (37) and doubles (19). Hague has played in all but one of Buffalo's 70 games.
Sean Ochinko
C SEAN OCHINKO had three hits last night, including the game-winning two-run double in the 11th inning. The catcher has hit 10 of his last 12 games with a .357 average (15-42) with four doubles and five RBI since May 27. Ochinko has struck out just 10 times in 109 at-bats.
Bobby Korecky
RHP BOBBY KORECKY has saves in back-to-back games and now three on the Herd's current roadtrip. With five saves on the season, the veteran now has 27 for his Bisons career. That's tied for 3rd most in the modern era, only three behind Bisons' saves leader Fernando Cabrera.
Bisons Bits
RHP CHAD JENKINS has not allowed a run in nine relief outings or 15.0 innings dating back to May 25...OF CALEB GINDL has hit in six straight with a .304 (7-23) average since June 15.
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays (37-33) lost 5-3 to the Orioles on Friday. Baltimore scored three in the ninth for the win. Mark Buehrle allowed just two runs in seven innings but did not earn a decision. Toronto hosts the Orioles for the rubber-match of their three-game series today at 1:07 p.m.
