Today's Game:

The Buffalo Bisons take on the Indianapolis Indians in the first game of a four-game series from Victory Field (7:05 p.m.). The Herd is coming off of a 3-1 series victory against the Louisville Bats, and is in the middle of an eight game roadtrip. The Bisons will return home on Saturday for an eight-game homestand against the Knights and Indians.

vs. the Indians

Tonight's game is the first regular season contest between the Bisons and the Indians this year. The Herd was 3-5 against the Indians in 2012, including a four-game split on the road. Since 1998, Indy holds a 61-58 edge in the matchup, but Buffalo leads the series at Victory Field 31-29.

Unstoppable Force vs. Immovable Object

This four-game series features the IL's top offensive club against the best pitching squad in the league. Buffalo has led the league in average (.294) and homers (43) for virtually the entire season. Meanwhile, Indy's 2.72 ERA is almost a half-run better than any IL staff.

Road Sweet Road

The Bisons are 14-4 away from Coca-Cola Field this season, good for a .778 winning percentage. The Herd has not had a winning road record in a season since going 42-31 during their 2004 IL Champion campaign. The Herd has scored 32 more runs on the road (115) than at home (83) in the same number of games.

On the Mound

RHP MIGUEL BATISTA will make his seventh start of the season tonight, which is tied for the team lead. In his last outing, Batista took his first loss of the year as he gave up six runs in 3.2 innings of work against Norfolk. It was the first time this season that he allowed more than four runs in a game.

Closing Time

RHP NEIL WAGNER earned his 10th save of the season last night, which is tied for 2nd-most in the International League. Wagner has converted each of his save opportunities so far and has only given up two earned runs in 15.2 innings of work. He has held opponents to one hit or less in 13 of his 14 appearances.

1-2 Punch

INF JIM NEGRYCH leads the IL in batting average (.417) and on-base percentage (.475) and is second (.639) behind teammate INF LUIS JIMENEZ (.647). Jimenez leads the IL with 34 RBI.

The Blue Jays (15-24) were off on Monday, but return to action tonight in interleague play against the San Francisco Giants at Rogers Centre. Former Bisons RHP R.A. DICKEY (2-5, 5.06) takes the mound for the Jays against LHP BARRY ZITO (3-1, 2.75) at 7:07 p.m.
