Bisons LHP Kirby Snead Named to International League All-Star Team
July 7, 2019 - International League (IL1)
Buffalo Bisons News Release
The International League today announced that Buffalo Bisons LHP KIRBY SNEAD has been named to the 2019 International League All-Star Team. Snead will join Bisons manager Bobby Meacham to represent the Herd at the 32nd Annual Triple-A All-Star Game to be played on Wednesday, July 10 at Southwest University Park in El Paso, TX (9:05 p.m. ET).
The game will be broadcast live on the MLB Network and heard on the radio home for Bisons baseball, ESPN 1520 AM. RHP Justin Shafer was also named to the IL's All-Star Team, but was recalled to the Blue Jays on Sunday.
Snead, 24, joined the Bisons in early May to make his Triple-A debut and has quickly become one of the team's most reliable relievers. In 20 appearances, Snead is 2-1 with a 3.55 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 25.1 innings of work. The southpaw has worked more than an inning in nine of his appearances and has held opponents to a .180 (9-50) average with runners on base.
Snead was the Blue Jays 10th round pick in the 2016 draft. He went 3-4 with a 4.43 ERA in 36 games with the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats in 2018, helping the team win an Eastern League championship.
