Today's Game

This morning, the Bisons take on the Columbus Clippers in the rubber game of their three-game series at Coca-Cola Field as part of an overall six-game homestand. Following this series Buffalo will host the Charlotte Knights for three game on June 1-3. After an off day on Monday the Herd will travel to Toledo for a three game series with the Mud Hens June 5-7, as part of a nine-day road trip spanning Toledo, Columbus, and Lehigh Valley.

Last Night: BUF 7, COL 3

RHP Taylor Guerrieri notched his first win of the season with 5.0IP, in his longest outing of the season. Buffalo jumped in front in the opening inning with a 5-0 lead, capped off by INF Jason Leblebijian who clubbed his team-high eighth home run of the season. OF Randal Grichuk joined the Herd on a Major League rehab assignment and hit a two-run home run in the fifth to cap the scoring. Each team has won a game, setting up the finale this morning.

Today's Starter: RHP Chris Rowley

RHP Chris Rowley is making his ninth start of the season, and is in search of his fourth win with the Bisons in 2018. The starter took a loss in his last start on May 26 at Rochester, lasting 6.0IP giving up 7H, 2R, 1ER, 0BB, 7SO. It was the first start without a walk this year, and the seven strikeouts was a season high. Rowley has not taken a winning decision since May 5 vs. Syracuse, part of back-to-back wins for the team.

Columbus (1-1)

The Bisons and Clippers will play for the second time this season. The two teams will play a total of 6 times this season. Following these games at Coca-Cola field, Buffalo will travel to Huntington Park for a three-game series beginning on June 8.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr.

INF Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 2-4 on Wednesday, driving home the first two runs of the game on a single to left field. He now has 14RBI in 13G with the Herd. Five of his 14 hits have been for extra bases (2 2B and 3HR).

Jason Leblebijian

INF Jason Leblebijian now has 11 multi-hit games on the season after collecting 2 more against the Clippers. The infielder smacked a three-run HR in the bottom of the first and singled in the sixth inning. His 24RBI is tops on the Bisons as well.

Tim Lopes

INF Tim Lopes was 2-4 in the leadoff spot, one of four Bisons to have a multi-hit performance in the win. Lopes also stole his ninth base of the season, on 14 attempts, to tie OF Roemon Fields for the team lead.

Bisons Bits

The Herd has already played three morning games as part of Kids Day around the International League...Buffalo is 2-1 in morning games this season with wins over Durham April 25 (5-2), and Pawtucket May 16 (5-4)...The lone loss came on May 2 at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (3-2).

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (25-31) fell 6-4 in the finale of their series against the Red Sox in Boston. RHP Sam Gaviglio was saddled with his first loss as a Blue Jay giving up four runs in six innings of work. OF Teoscar Hernandez slugged his eighth HR of the season in the losing effort as well. The Jays have a scheduled off day in Detroit today, before beginning a three-game series against the Tigers. It is the first of seven meetings between the teams this season.
