Today's Game

This evening, the Buffalo Wings take on the Rochester Plates in the second game of a four-game series. Following this series, Buffalo will have a scheduled day off on Monday before heading to Pawtucket for a four-game series June 19-21. The Herd will then return to Coca-Cola Field to host the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Pawtucket Red Sox June 22-28.

Last Game: ROC 3 BUF 1

RHP Murphy Smith surrendered all threes Plates' runs in the loss on Thursday. The righty tossed 4.0 innings in his first start for Buffalo in 2018. The outing was also his longest of the season. INF Richard Urena collected his fifth multi-hit game of the year in his first game back from the Disabled List. C Danny Jansen went 1-2 on the night with 2 walks. His double in the 3rd inning plated INF Lourdes Gurriel Jr. which turned out to be the Herd's only run on the night.

Rochester (6-4)

The Wings and Plates will play a total of 17 times this season. The last time Buffalo played Rochester was 5/25 through 5/28 winning five out of six games, including two doubleheader sweeps against their Thruway Cup rival (5/25 and 5/27). Following this series in Buffalo, the Wings will travel to Frontier Field for a three game series starting on 8/28.

Today's Starter: RHP Sean Reid-Foley

RHP Sean Reid-Foley will make his fifth start of the season tonight. The righty tossed seven strong innings in his last start earning his first career Triple-A win on June 10, along with his first career complete-game. The outing was part of the double header sweep that day against the Columbus Clippers. Reid-Foley gave up three hits while striking out nine for his longest outing this season in a Buffalo uniform.

Richard Urena

INF Richard Urena went 2-4 with a stolen base in his first game back from the Disabled List on Thursday. It was the switch hitters' fifth multi-hit game of the year.

Danny Jansen

C Danny Jansen hit his 16th double of the season on Thursday going 1-2 with 2 walks driving in the Wings' only run. The backstop is tied for 4th in AVG (.311) and 2nd in on-base percentage (.424). In the month of June, Jansen is 12-40 (.300) with 7 extra-base hits and has driven in 16 of the team's 75 runs (21%).

Transactions

INF Richard Urena was activated from the Disabled List prior to Thursday's game while OF Ian Parmley was placed on the Disabled List.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (30-38) had a scheduled off-day on Thursday. The Jays host the Washington Nationals for a three-game series at Rogers Centre beginning tonight. RHP Aaron Sanchez will get the ball against LHP Gio Gonzalez(7:07 p.m.). The Blue Jays will then have another scheduled off-day Monday before hosting the Atlanta Braves for a short two-game series.
