Today's Game

This evening, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs at Coca-Cola Park in the third game of a four-game series. It is the last trip to Allentown, PA for the Bisons in the 2018 season. Following the series, Buffalo will return to Coca-Cola Field to play host to the Norfolk Tides and Durham Bulls July 16-22. The last time the Bisons played the two teams was April 20-25 while on the road.

Last Game: BUF 13, LHV 14/10

The Bisons squandered a pair of seven-run leads, and then allowed four runs in the bottom of the 10th to lose in extra innings. RF Roemon Fields led the offense with four hits and three stolen bases. Buffalo pounded out a season-high 18 hits in defeat. C Danny Jansen collected his eighth home run of the season, a two-run blast in the top of the 10th that made it 13-10 Herd. LHP Matt Tracy went five innings in the start and recorded a no-decision for Buffalo.

Lehigh Valley (3-8)

The Bisons and IronPigs last played on June 22-24 in Buffalo. Lehigh Valley took the first two games of the series, and Sunday's game was rained out (6/24). Following this series, the two teams will meet again in Buffalo for a four-game series July 30-31, August 1-2. The Herd did not win in Allentown in 2017, but notched a 2-2 split in Lehigh Valley June 11-13. C Reese McGuire is batting .360 (9-25) in eight games against the IronPigs this season.

Today's Starter: LHP Thomas Pannone

LHP Thomas Pannone takes the mound for his second start with the Bisons in 2018. Pannone has made four starts overall on the season, with his first appearance coming on 6/22 for Dunedin (Adv-A). He also made two starts for New Hampshire (AA), going 0-1 with a 5.49ERA. The lefty tossed six innings, allowing seven hits and two runs against Syracuse on 7/7.

Roemon Fields

OF Roemon Fields stole three bases on Friday to take over the International League lead with 22. He is now one in front of Indy's Kevin Newman. Fields also has 67 career stolen bases over parts of three seasons with the Bisons, placing him in a tie for second place in the modern era for steals with Greg Tubbs.

Darnell Sweeney

INF/OF Darnell Sweeney clobbered his seventh home run of the season on Friday. The HR came off of RHP Luis Garcia, giving Sweeney six of his seven HRs off of right handed pitchers this season.

Richard Urena

INF Richard Urena extended his hitting streak to seven games with two hits on Friday. He was 2-6 with 3RBI in the loss.

Bisons' Bits

Thursday's win was just the second time Buffalo has won a game while trailing after six innings and the third when tied after eight innings...With LHP Jose Fernandez's save on Thursday, nine different pitchers have recorded a save, the same amount as the two last seasons (2016 and 2017)...The Herd has won four games in July, going 4-5. They are just about halfway to July 2017's win total when the team was 9-18.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (43-50) outslugged Boston 13-7 on Friday night to even up their four-game series at Fenway Park. The two teams met again on Saturday afternoon, and will hit the All-Star break following a Sunday afternoon affair with ex-Bison RHP Marcus Stroman on the hill facing LHP Brian Johnson (1:05 p.m.).
