Today's Game The evening, Bisons' take on the Gwinnett Stripers in the second game of a four-game set at Coolray Field. Buffalo will have a scheduled off-day on Monday before returning home for their final homestand of the 2018 season to face division rivals Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (August 21-23) and Pawtucket Red Sox (August 24-27). Buffalo will face the rest of their division in their final series of the season. The team squares off against the Rochester Plates August 28-30 (doubleheader on the 28th) and will then continue up the 90 to play the Syracuse Chiefs August 31- September 3.

Last Game: BUF 2, GWN 4 3B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and INF Tim Lopes each had two hits on the night to make up the Bisons' four hits. C Reese McGuire and INF/OF Darnell Sweeney each had a sacrifice fly to OF/1B Billy McKinney and Lopes. RHP Zach Stewart and LHP Craig Breslow combined for three scoreless innings out of the bullpen. The duo yielded one walk and a hit while fanning two Stripers' batters.

Gwinnett (1-3) The Bisons and Stripers are meeting for their final series of the season. Gwinnett took two of three that last time these two played, a series spanning August 7-9 at Coca-Cola Field. The Bisons go into this four-game series looking to win their first season series against the Stripers in over five years.

Today's Starter: RHP Murphy Smith RHP Murphy Smith will make his seventh start of the season tonight. This will be Smith's fourth start in his last five appearances dating back to July 27. In his last trip to the mound on August 12, the righty threw five innings of four-hit ball yielding just one run before handing it off to the bullpen.

Tim Lopes INF Tim Lopes went 2-4 with a run on Thursday. The infielder, who opened the season batting .438 in the month of April (21-48, 13 games) has hit .352 (19-54) through 15 games in August. Of Lopes' 24 multi-hit games, seven have come in August. The speedster also has 17 stolen bases on the year, which is the fifth straight season with at least 17 swiped bags.

Justin Shafer RHP Justin Shafer is in his second year as a full-time reliever. After beginning the year in New Hampshire (AA), Shafer is 3-3 with a 1.47ERA and 15 saves 32 games (36.2IP) with Buffalo.

Transactions On Thursday, RHP Brandon Cumpton was added to the Bisons' roster. INF Jason Leblebijian was placed on the Disabled List and INF Gunnar Heidt was promoted from New Hampshire (AA).

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 3B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 2-3 with a walk in the loss on Thursday. This was Guerrero Jr.'s sixth multi-hit game since being promoted from New Hampshire (AA). He has reached base in 14 of his 15 games in a Bisons' uniform (.353 AVG, 18-51; .452 OBP, 7 walks).

Blue Jays Update Toronto (55-66) split the series against the Kansas City Royals with a 6-2 loss on Thursday. DH Kendrys Morales and C Danny Jansen each drove in a run. Jansen is now 4-10 in three games with the Jays since his promotion. Toronto continues their road trip as they face the New York Yankees for three games. RHP Marcus Stroman faces RHP Lance Lynn in the opener (7:05 p.m.).
