Montgomery Biscuits News Release

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (14-18) reached double digits again and took down the Biloxi Shuckers (20-12) for the second-straight game, winning on the second Grand Slam School Day of the year, 10-5, on Tuesday morning at Riverwalk Stadium. The Biscuits are now outscoring the Shuckers 21-5 in the series.

Cody Ponce (1-2) got the start for Biloxi and ran into trouble early, allowing a two-out RBI-single to Dalton Kelly in the first to put the Biscuits up 1-0. An inning later, Ryan Bolt was at it again, stroking his fourth home run of the year and third over the last two days-this one a three-run shot pulled over the right field wall-to hand the Biscuits a 4-0 lead.

The Shuckers would pull one back in the third on a Troy Stokes Jr. sac fly against Montgomery starter Zach Lee (4-1), who tossed six solid innings en route to another victory. Brett Sullivan would rip an RBI-double in the third to make it 5-1, and then the Biscuits pulled away with three more runs in the fourth.

Biloxi battled back in the sixth with a two-run double by Dylan Moore, before Moore struck with another two-run double in seventh to make it 8-5. Moore has 18 RBIs this season with 14 of them coming against the Biscuits.

Kelly would swat a two-run double of his own in the eighth to add a pair of Biscuits insurance runs, and the first baseman finished with four RBIs in the win.

The Biscuits have now won three-straight games for the second time this season, and will try to make it a season-high four on Wednesday night on Craft Beer Night at Riverwalk when J.D. Martin (1-4) takes on Zack Brown (1-0) at 6:35 PM.

The rest of the 10-game home stand will feature Nurses Appreciation Night featuring a T-Shirt giveaway presented by Shaw Technology on Thursday, May 10, Family Faith Night with Faith Radio Pre-Game Concert & MAX Fireworks on Friday, May 11, Military Appreciation Night & MAX Fireworks on Saturday, May 12, and Rays Night featuring Tampa Bay Rays Mascot Appearance and Rays Baseball Giveaway on Sunday, May 13.
