RHP Andres Santiago to AAA Gwinnett, RHP Bryse Wilson to Mississippi

PEARL, MS - The Atlanta Braves have announced the following roster moves that affect the Mississippi Braves roster. RHP Andres Santiago has been promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett from Double-A Mississippi. RHP Bryse Wilson has been promoted from High-A Florida to Double-A Mississippi and will start tonight. Wilson will wear jersey number 46. LHP Tyler Pike has been placed on the Disabled List in Mississippi and C Sal Giardina has been activated from the Disabled List in Mississippi.

Wilson, 20, makes his Double-A debut tonight for the M-Braves. Rated by MLB.com as the No. 12 prospect in the Braves farm system, Wilson was 2-0 with a 0.34 ERA (26.2IP/1ER) for the High-A Florida Fire Frogs with 26 strikeouts and seven walks. He has not allowed a run over his previous 13.1 innings pitched and leaves the Florida State League with a 0.86 WHIP.

Over his career, Wilson is 13-8 with a 1.94 ERA over 40 games and 37 starts starts with 194 strikeouts and a 0.99 WHIP. The Hillsborough, NC native was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the fourth round (109th overall) of the 2016 draft.

Santiago, 28, has appeared in five games with Triple-A Gwinnett this season, with three of his appearances being starts. Santiago is 1-1 with a 4.03 ERA. After multiple stints with the M-Braves in 2018, Santiago has appeared in two games, earning one start and is 0-0 with a 1.13 ERA.

Pike, 24, has appeared in six games with Double-A Mississippi this season, with all six of his appearances being relief appearances. Pike is 0-1 with a 1.08 ERA.

Giardina, 26, has appeared in one game with Double-A Mississippi this season. Giardina's lone appearance with the M-Braves in 2018 occurred on April 18 against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.

The Mississippi Braves active roster stands at 25 with 6 on the Disabled List.
