Montgomery Biscuits News Release
MONTGOMERY, AL - The Chattanooga Lookouts (58-64) scored four runs in the seventh inning against Sergio Espinosa, and the Biscuits (62-60) stranded 12 runners, falling 6-5 Friday at Riverwalk.
After falling behind 2-0 early, the Biscuits tied the game with single runs in the third and fifth before scoring three in the sixth. John Matulia hit a solo-homer to give the Biscuits their first lead of the night, and Craig Albernaz singled home a pair.
The Lookouts responded quickly with a pair of runs against Espinosa, and with runners at second and third and two outs, Elian Herrera doubled to right-center field to plate a pair and retake the lead at 6-5.
The Biscuits left the bases loaded in the fifth, and two runners in three other innings including the ninth, when Shawn O'Malley popped out in foul ground to end things.
Biscuits starter Alex Cobb left the game after 2.1 innings with an injury. Heath Rollins was sharp over 2.2 scoreless before Espinosa (3-3) gave up the big inning. Chattanooga starter Chris Withrow took a no-decision, allowing a pair of runs on two hits and five walks over five frames. The win went to James Adkinds (3-1), who recorded the final two outs of the sixth.
Matulia led the Biscuits charge, going 3-5. Rashad Eldridge and Drew Anderson each recorded two hits as well.
With a corresponding Mobile loss, the Biscuits are still 4.5 games out of the wild card hunt with 16 remaining.
RH Rayner Oliveros will throw on Saturday at 7:05 against Chattanooga's LH Brent Leach.
