Diamond Jaxx Sweep Doubleheader from Suns

Jackson, Tenn. - The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx (65-60, 26-30) swept a Saturday doubleheader with identical finals of 6-5 over the Jacksonville Suns (73-53, 33-23) in front of 2,601 at Pringles Park.

Elih Villaneuva was in line for his 14th win in game one before West Tenn rallied for three runs off Todd Doolittle in the bottom of the seventh inning for a walk-off win.

The Suns traded the lead with West Tenn, gaining a 5-3 advantage in the fifth inning on a two-run single from Matt Dominguez.

Doolittle entered the game in the seventh inning and allowed a leadoff home run from Alex Liddi to cut the lead to 5-4. Nate Tenbrink next reached on a single and was forced out on a fielder's choice from Joe Dunigan. After Dunigan reached second on an error, Carlos Triunfel singled before a Matt Lawson single score Dunigan for a 5-5 score. Leury Bonilla next hit a fly ball off the centerfield wall to score Triunfel for a 6-5 final.

In game two West Tenn built an early lead with a Johan Limonta first inning single for a 1-0 score. Bonilla and Limonta added sacrifice flies in the third inning to open a 3-0 advantage. Dwight Britton added a three-run home run in the fourth inning to build a 6-0 lead.

Jacksonville rallied for a five-run fifth inning. Greg Burns walked with one out and moved to third base on a Lorenzo Scott infield hit and error. Ozzie Martinez doubled home Burns for a 6-1 score. After Vinny Rottino drew a walk to load the bases, Steven Richard entered from the West Tenn bullpen and allowed a grand slam home run from Matt Dominguez for a 6-5 score.

The grand slam was the first for a Suns hitter in 2010.
