MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (19-15) rallied back from a late-inning deficit and put the winning run on second base in the ninth before falling to the Jacksonville Suns (16-18) 4-3 Thursday night at Riverwalk.

With the Biscuits trailing 3-1 in the seventh inning, Joey Rickard cut it to a one run game with a sacrifice fly that scored Luke Maile. Ryan Brett then followed with an RBI-triple that tipped of Joe Benson's glove in right field to tie the game. The tie was short-lived, however, as Isaac Galloway hit a two out, solo home run off Andrew Bellatti (1-1) in the ninth to give the Suns a 4-3 lead.

Maile led off the bottom of the ninth with a walk. After two quick outs, Brett hit a groundball up the middle that bounced off the bag and ricocheted into right field. Maile - the tying run - ended up at third while Brett - the winning run - ended up on second. Jake Hager worked a walk to bring up Taylor Motter with the bases loaded. The Biscuits RBI-leader grounded out to end the game.

The Biscuits trailed 2-0 after two and a half innings. Hager's two-out, RBI-single in the third made it a one run game, but Rich Poythress hit a solo shot in the fourth to give the Suns a two run lead.

Kevin Brandt came out of the pen to toss two scoreless-innings in his double-A debut.

Brett finished with three hits while Cameron Seitzer and Riccio Torrez had two hits apiece. The Biscuits out-hit the Suns 10-8.

The rubber-match is Friday night at 7:05. RH Matt Neil will throw against his former team while the Suns will have RH Jose Urena on the hill.
