Biscuits Hold off Suns to Snap the Skid

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Biscuits (27-28) survived a ninth inning rally from the Jacksonville Suns (29-26) and held on to win 5-4 to snap a seven-game losing streak Friday night at the Baseball Grounds.

Santiago Garrdio (6) entered the game in the ninth inning with the Biscuits leading 5-2. The Suns scored one run with a triple and a sacrifice fly. Brent Keys then singled and took second with two outs on defensive indifference. Keys then scored on an error to make it a one run game and put the tying run on base. Garrido then retired J.T. Realmuto to end the game and snap the skid.

The Biscuits put up five runs against Angel Sanchez (0-7) in the third inning. The half inning lasted over 20 minutes. The first six batters that came to the plate reached base. Alejandro Segoiva doubled-home Willie Argo for the first runn of the inning. Singles from Joey Rickard brought in the second run while a single from Ryan Brett brought in two more run, before Jeff Malm capped the scoring with a two-run single.

The Suns scored two runs in the fourth inning, the only runs off of Michael Colla (2-6) who picked up his second win of the year.

The Biscuits will open a five-game series with the Mississippi Braves on Saturday night. LH Grayson Garvin will start for the Biscuits while RH Williams Perez will be on the hill for the Braves. First pitch is slated for 6:35 at Riverwalk Stadium.
