MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Montgomery Biscuits won in their final at bat, beating the Suns, 2-1, in front of 6,991 schoolchildren Wednesday morning at Riverwalk Stadium.

Delmon Young doubled off Suns reliever Jason Olson to lead off the bottom of the ninth and led to the Biscuits (15-12) scoring the tiebreaking run, sending Olson (0-2) to a loss. After two intentional walks and a force out at home plate, Shawn Riggans hit a potential double-play ball to shortstop. Second baseman Delwyn Young received the first out, but was taken out cleanly by Biscuits baserunner Rico Washington, prohibiting an accurate throw which, if received in time at first base, would've negated the threat.

The Suns (12-15) did not have a baserunner in scoring position until the eighth when Derek Michaelis moved to second on a wild pitch. Pinch-hitter Russell Martin dropped a bloop single off Biscuits reliever Josh Parker, scoring Michaelis and tying the game, 1-1. Parker (1-1) earned the win.

Suns starter Jonathan Broxton pitched six innings, allowing two hits and allowed one run on a bloop RBI double by Mike Curry (Jacksonville University Christian HS) in the fifth inning. It ended Broxton's streak of 19 consecutive scoreless innings.

The Suns had runners at first and second with no outs in the ninth but failed to advance them.

Left-hander Derek Thompson (0-1, 4.21 ERA) is scheduled to face Mississippi Braves left-hander Andy Van Hekken (0-0, 1.80) at 7:05 p.m. Friday in the first game of a three-game series at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

SUNS SPOTS: The loss was the Suns' ninth one-run defeat. ... ...LHP Luis Gonzalez pitched scoreless seventh and eighth innings and has not allowed a run in 17 innings this season. ...CF Todd Donovan has five hits in his last 42 at bats.
