BayBears win homestand finale

Mobile BayBears News Release


MOBILE, AL- The Mobile BayBears and Carolina Mudcats played three one run games, with the BayBears taking the last one 3-2 Wednesday afternoon. Mobile was down 2-1 in the bottom of the eighth, but four hits and two sacrifice flies gave the BayBears a 3-2 lead. Dale Thayer shut down the Mudcats in the ninth for his fourth save.

Mobile's first run came on an RBI single by Paul McAnulty in the bottom of the first inning. McAnulty finished the day 3-for-4 with the RBI. The BayBears again got a strong start from Mike Thompson, who didn't allow an earned run in seven innings of work. Rusty Tucker (1-2) pitched a scoreless eighth inning for his first win.

The BayBears have an off-day Thursday, and will play a doubleheader in West Tennessee Friday night. All BayBears games can be heard on 1480 AM WABB, Comcast Cable Channel 59, and on the internet via www.mobilebaybears.com.
