MOBILE, AL- For the second straight night, the Mobile BayBears got to Carolina closer Mike Flannery, but lose by one run, also for the second straight night. Down one run in the bottom of the eleventh inning, the BayBears loaded the bases with nobody out, but did not score. It was the fourth straight loss for Mobile (9-17.) The Mudcats (20-5) are the first team in Minor League Baseball to win 20 games.
The BayBears scored two runs in the second inning on a two-out RBI single by pitcher Brian Whitaker. The BayBears are now 1-3 in extra innings, while Carolina goes to 3-0 in extra frames.
