PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Biscuits (6-5) scored early in a rained-shortened game against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (6-5) for a 3-1, six-inning win Monday night at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.

The Biscuits offense jumped on Wahoos' starter Carlos Contreras from the get-go. Ryan Brett led off the game with a single, extending his hit-streak to seven games. Taylor Motter followed with a double to drive in the run. Two batters later, Cameron Seitzer scored Motter with a single to make it 2-0 Biscuits.

Richie Shaffer led off the fourth inning with a double. After a groundout and a wild pitch, Shaffer scored to give the Biscuits a 3-0 lead.

The Wahoos started to rally in the sixth inning with an RBI-triple from Donald Lutz to make it a 3-1 game, but the rain started coming down, the tarp came on the field and after an hour and twenty minute delay, the game was called.

Victor Mateo (2-1) picked up his first win of the year. The righty held the Wahoos scoreless until the fifth inning. Mateo allowed one run while striking out four.

Game two between the Biscuits and Wahoos is Tuesday night at 6:30. RHP Dylan Floro will be on the hill for Montgomery while Pensacola will throw RH Daniel Corcino.
