HOOVER, Ala. - The series opener scheduled between the Montgomery Biscuits and the Birmingham Barons was rained out Tuesday night.
A light but persistent rain fell in central Alabama all morning and afternoon. The Biscuits made the trip to Hoover and waited until approximately 7:20 p.m., when the game was officially postponed.
The teams will play a doubleheader on Wednesday night at 5 p.m. Both games will be seven innings in length.
It is the Biscuits' first rainout of the 2005 season. The club finishes May 13-15.
Biscuits righty Brian Stokes will start game one, while Jason Hammel will throw in the second game.
