
Birmingham Gets Back in Win Column with 122-111 Victory at Memphis

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Squadron found their way back into the win column Thursday night in Southaven, Miss., defeating the Memphis Hustle, 122-111, at the Landers Center.
Jalen Crutcher's 24 points paced Birmingham offensively, and the Dayton product was just one assist away from a double-double with nine on the night. Kira Lewis Jr. joined Crucher as another Squadron player dropping over 20 points with 21.
Two members of the Squadron, Trey Jemison and Izaiah Brockington, notched double-doubles, with Brockington scoring 11 and tallying 17 rebounds, a career-high. Jemison's 15-point, 14-rebound night is his fifth double-double in a row and his ninth in the past 11 games.
Devin Cannady led all players coming off the bench with 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field.
Memphis' Jake LaRavia scored 20 to pace the Hustle after being assigned to the team by the Memphis Grizzlies earlier in the day.
The Squadron return home to host Raptors 905 Saturday, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. at Legacy Arena at the BJCC. Birmingham's first of two games celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. Day can be seen locally on My68 and nationally on NBAGLeague.com.
