BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Barons in conjunction with WVTM will televise the 2018 Southern League All- Star Game live from Regions Field on Tuesday, June 19. Coverage will air on MeTV Birmingham, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

"It is an honor to host the 2018 Southern League All-Star game," Birmingham Barons General Manager Jonathan Nelson said. "We are proud to partner with WVTM to bring the action to a wider audience through MeTV and highlight the gameday atmosphere we pride ourselves on at Regions Field."

WVTM 13 Sports Anchor Don Hawes and WVTM 13 Morning Anchor Eunice Elliott will be hosting as the brightest talent in the Southern League takes the field in a clash between the North Division and South Division.

"Hosting the Southern League All-Star Game gives Birmingham a great opportunity to showcase our community, the Barons, and Regions Field," said Hank Price, WVTM 13 President and General Manager. "Broadcasting the game on MeTV Birmingham will expose thousands of additional Alabamians to this marquee event."

Recent MLB stars such as Dansby Swanson (2016), Tim Anderson (2015), Kris Bryant (2014), Kyle Hendricks (2013), and Didi Gregorius (2012) have all participated in the Southern League All-Star Game, and this year's showcase of talent looks to impress viewers as well.
