Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack has named goaltender Jordan Binnington the clubs Becker Shoes Attacker of the Week.
Binnington, 19, got the call between the pipes on Thursday evening when the Attack made the trip to Barrie to take on the Colts. The Colts fired 39 shots at Binnington, striking three times, twice while on the powerplay in a 4-3 shootout loss. Despite the loss, the St. Louis Blues prospect made several spectacular saves to ensure the Attack left Barrie with one point.
On Friday evening, Binnington made his fourth consecutive start in Guelph against the Storm and was equally as impressive as Thursday evening. The Storm held a 2-1 lead for a large stretch of the game, but the Attack's lanky netminder ensured it would stay 2-1 with several big saves. The Attack would eventually rally in the 3rd period to leave Guelph with a 3-2 win.
The Gravenhurst resident (formerly Richmond Hill) finished the week with a 2.40 GAA and a .929 save percentage. Binnington currently sits 4th in GAA (1.96), T-4th in save percentage (.940) and T-1st in wins (3).
The Attack is back in action on Friday evening when they travel to Sarnia to take on the Sting. They return home on Saturday night to take on the Guelph Storm. Tickets for Saturday evening can be purchased at the Attack Box Office, by calling (519) 371-7452 or online at www.attackhockey.com .
